Machu Picchu. Sacred Inca site high in the Andes of Peru

Of all my travels to date this journey to Peru and Bolivia with Chamba and Daniel is easily the most profoundly inspiring and life transforming I have ever had and I highly recommend it for anyone who has an interest in deepening their own sacred relationship with the land and sky. The conscious and attentive way Chamba set this tour up and then was able to flow with the changes and the needs of the group, provided me with the opportunity to have a deeply sacred personal initiation experience in the context of a very bonded and supportive group. Six months later, I still feel deeply connected to the land, to the people and my co-travelers. Inspired by the impact of my connection with these sacred lands, I have written a piece attempting to capture the essence of the activation I experienced and am continuing to integrate. The article is Sacred Union With The Land In The Andes, Awakening In The Dream and is posted on the Shamanic Astrology Website www.ShamanicAstrology.com along with some pictures and this URL takes you right to the page. http://www.shamanicastrology.com/articles19.htm

I had the pleasure of accompanying Chamba Lane on a guided trip to Peru in 1995, I found the journey very rewarding. Chamba was a great host and tour guide. He Knew the locals and spoke the language. He also seemed to know of the little out of the way spots that had a lot of history. He employed local guides and Shamans for the special added touch, In several cases we had our own private little tours that were well off the beaten path with plenty of local color one would have to say that Chamba knows his way around Peru. His tour was unique and affordable. I would not hesitate to go on another trip with him

While in Peru, I was disappointed that the shamans I encountered did not come up to my expectations. I finally discovered that I had to pull out of myself that which I had been looking for in a shaman. So I leave Peru with the gift of knowing that I am no longer a seeker. I am a finder. That feels good to know.

"Besides travelling through beautiful ancient landscapes, meeting wonderful locals, feasting your eyes on colorful art. and being filled to overflowing with the flavor of a land where the past still walks side by side with the present, you will also find yourself exploring the depths of the landscape of 'the Self - sometimes beautiful, often mysterious, occasionally dark, always fascinating. If l had to put words in a travel brochure I'd say, "Travel Peru - Discover Yourself."

There is so much I want to say and describe. It was an adventure I still excitedly speak about and here it is 6 years later!! Chamba was a wonderful guide, filling our days with so many special experiences!

What thrilled me the most are all the places we got to visit and explore that I had never even heard of. The whole tour was so rich! Hiking to ancient sites and being able to peacefully meditate, or contemplate, or just explore....it was so full of high energy moments. Each place will leave you with unforgettable moments captured forever in your heart! Take the adventure. I even have my children saving up to go!!

The native beliefs of respect for the earth and living harmoniously with nature was apparent. I think the native religion dominates, and Catholicism Is merely a guise, adapted and modified to fit the more natural earth centered beliefs of the mountain people. What an incredible, inspiring, life affirming trip it was!

Going to Peru with Chamba in '98 was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life so far, one that I will never ever forget. Peru has got to be one of the most beautiful and magical countries in the world. I'll never forget the first time I looked out over Machu Picchu. It's hard to find words to describe it, but 'breathtaking' and 'unbelievable' come to mind. Chamba's tour will not be for everyone but if you're looking for something a little different, to experience Peru in a way that most people never will, then I whole-heartedly recommend it.
