Say, just who is leading this tour?Chamba Lane
Your tour leader, Chamba Lane, has traveled by many modes all over our planet. He has an active sense of humor which he struggles to keep under control, but which often leaks out in spite of his efforts Earlier in life, when he had more energy than common sense, he spent twelve years hitch hiking around the world, visiting well over 100 countries. In some he only stopped long enough for a drink of water and then moved on, but in many he stopped and worked, living amongst and learning from the people. He was never a tourist, always a traveler. He seldom stayed in hotels during this period. While working in a country he rented a room from a family, and when on the move he usually stopped each evening at a local cafe and waited until some local took an interest in this obvious foreigner, struck up a conversation, and ended up inviting him home for the night. The bargain was food and shelter in return for his stories, and both parties usually found the exchange a bargain. He was and remains a student of life. He professes to be an expert in nothing, but quite familiar with much. He loves the Third World and its' people, and the Fourth World whenever he encounters it.. He also spent three years living in/studying in the energy schools of Tibet/Nepal/India, investigating and practicing Kundalini Yoga, Tibetan Buddhism, Tantric Yoga, various forms of Meditation, then Indonesian Yoga, Scientology (for a tumultuous 8 months), and a host of other disciplines and perspectives, some of which are best forgotten but all of which had their effect and contributed to who he is today. Then there was a two years study program with the Church of The Essence, an offshoot of the Berkeley Psychic Institute, to develop his physic skills. This culminated in graduation as a Psychic Spiritual Practitioner and Minister. There was also a year and a half living in the Haight Ashbury during the time period when it was the most creative and innovative place on the planet. The Haight in 1966-67 was the most transformational foreign country he has ever lived in, and, praise the sweet baby Jesus, it was fun. So although he has no great set of Academic credentials to impress you with, he does feel that his variety of studies and experiences well qualifies him to comment upon, offer insights into, and guide you on your own exploration of the Power Places of the Peruvian Andes. Formal Education: Almost graduated University. Actually it was San Francisco State College, but University sounds so much more impressive now doesn't it? The "almost" is because the Haight Ashbury scene provided a much more vital education than the University over the hill, so he never amassed the final few credits necessary for a diploma. Ah well. He has never regretted this decision. His strong opinion is that formal education often gets in the way of intuition, and he cautions against blindly accepting the proffered wisdom of scholars and scholastics, who often have a very vested interest in your accepting their conventional version of history, archeology and "how it was back then." Please keep in mind that every revolution in how man viewed his universe took a generation of wise men dying off before the new and suddenly so obvious truth was accepted as common knowledge. Without the strictures of today's accepted knowledge, the author remains free to speculate, ponder, ruminate, and intuit, and invites you to do the same. He has been guiding tours to the Power Places of Peru since 1994. He considers himself an intuitive archeologist. He spends time at sacred sites, tuning in, and often receiving information as to how the site was originally used, and how it wishes to be used today. He invites you to do the same. He believes that the ancients not only understood energy to an extent modern man can barely fathom, but that they fashioned their civilizations around the worship of energy. He will be guiding you through the remains of a civilization, far older than the Inca, that was based on the usage of natural energy. He is well respected by the Peruvians he works with. We teach one another, and share our discoveries. He sincerely hopes you enjoy and benefit from his tours, his perspectives, and when he finishes it, his most unique guidebook to the Power Places of Peru. For those of you new to the metaphysical perspective, he offers this sage advice from his favorite guru, May West: "Hang on baby, its going to be a bumpy ride". Daniel Giamario
For the 2004 tour we are pleased to be joined by eminent Shamanic Astrologer Daniel Giamario. Daniel is author of "The Shamanic Astrology Handbook". He has been a professional astrologer for over 31 years, creator of Shamanic Astrology, a system that is practical, applicable, and useful rather than merely interesting. Upon sending your birth info when registering for this tour, Daniel will be able to determine which planetary initiation cycles you may be involved with during this tour. On tour, we will play with determining the planetary influences of various sites, and how the ancients might have used the sites from an astronomical/astrological perspective. Daniel will also guide us in setting up ceremonial exercises working with the southern nite sky. This unique approach is cutting edge integration of astronomy and astrology.
